It’s always a joy to be part of an event that brings people together for the good of our home state. And yesterday was a day we were able to do just that.
Our client, the Kentucky Automotive Industry Association, joined state and industry leaders in Frankfort to celebrate the formation of Kentucky’s first automotive caucus.
Gov. Matt Bevin signed a resolution to formalize the formation of the bi-partisan caucus, which includes dozens of legislators from Paducah to Pikeville who pledged to work with the expansive and growing auto industry.
The auto manufacturing sector is one of Kentucky’s largest industries, supporting more than 136,000 jobs and contributing more than $14 billion annually to the gross state product.
Bevin, who was joined by caucus co-chairs Rep. Jim DeCesare, R-Bowling Green, and Rep. Jody Richards, D-Bowling Green, as well as KAIA Executive Director Dave Tatman, summed up well the reason behind forming the caucus.
“It will make things better by giving people a single voice, by taking what have been a number of disparate voices and causing them to work together,” Gov. Bevin said.
