Pink Out Event Illustrates Support for Cancer Project

Messer Construction Co. and Norton Healthcare Inc. leaders recently had a bright idea. What better way to illustrate what’s coming to the new Norton Cancer Institute-Brownsboro that Messer is building than to “paint it pink” during the month of October.

So in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Messer’s workers and subcontractors at the site wore customized pink vests and pink hard hats supplied by Norton. During a celebratory BBQ for the more than 100 workers at the job site, Norton leaders thanked the team for its hard work and talked about how their work is contributing to cancer care in the community.

Dr. Joseph Flynn, Norton Cancer Institute’s executive director and physician-in-chief sums it up this way.

“Our mission is to stop cancer and ease suffering. It takes care givers who are called to work in cancer care. It takes advanced technologies, leading-edge therapies, top-level research and a willingness to invest in what success means — not just for today but for many tomorrows ahead.”
