The Challenge

Founded in 2013, Global Game Changers (GGC) is a robust, evidence-based student empowerment program used in hundreds of elementary schools and after-school programs around the country. C2 Strategic partnered with GGC to help promote the use of a grant-funded 9/11 school curriculum, honoring the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

The Solution

C2 Strategic’s main goals were to: strengthen credibility and trust in GGC on a national level through earned media, educate more students and teachers about 9/11 and drive new funders, donors and educators to GGC programming.

The Results

Within a few months, C2 Strategic garnered nearly 200 media mentions in every major market from Chicago to New York City and reached more than 37 million people, totaling more than $20K in publicity value.

Of the earned media mentions, C2 Strategic secured an interview with National Public Radio, which reached more than 15 million people alone. The impact of the collective media coverage drove hundreds of new website referrals, meaning people weren’t just reading about GGC, they were visiting the 9/11 Lesson website to learn more as well.
