University of Louisville Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute
The Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute at the University of Louisville was formed with the goal of better understanding how natural, social and personal environments affect health – and turning that understanding into actionable knowledge.
The pandemic laid bare the health fracture points across our communities – environmental inequities, economic disparities, poor housing and more. The study of the intersection of our built and natural environments on community health is crucial but not widely utilized in the U.S.
C2 Strategic partnered with the Envirome Institute to elevate Envirome researchers as innovative subject matter experts in a variety of areas of study and to position the Institute as a nationally recognized resource for information about the nexus of health, environment and community.
Over six months, C2 Strategic led media outreach that recognized Envirome’s groundbreaking work, including crucial research in using wastewater to discover COVID-19 infection rates in a community and the connection between climate change and heart health. Our efforts led to 228 media mentions across the country, including a placement in USA Today and Black Press USA.
C2 Strategic’s pitches reached 62 million people with an estimated media value of $60,000.
