As a former editor turned CPA, Lisa Jessie understands both sides of C2 Strategic: numbers and words.
Leading C2 Strategic’s finance team means more than invoicing clients and paying the bills. Lisa oversees collection and analysis of data to help leadership make informed decisions, use resources efficiently and build a thriving business.
After earning a journalism degree at Western Kentucky University, Lisa worked as a copy editor at The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Lexington Herald-Leader. Later she became assistant business editor at The Courier Journal. She switched careers in the late ‘90s, becoming a CPA and working at several accounting firms and a Louisville nonprofit. She also has a master’s degree in business communications from Spalding University.
Lisa loves cats and the Cats. The CFOs (chief feline officers) at home are Macy Bedelia, named after famed UK hoopster Kyle Macy, and Crash. A Frenchie named Elvis rounds out the home team as Chief Chaos Officer. Lisa is the only person in the world to become a Yankees fan because she felt sorry for them – in 1976 — when her whole family rooted for the Reds in the World Series. Outside of cats, Cats and Yankees, Lisa has been known to kick off her shoes and dance like nobody’s watching.
