Andrea Watts has a knack for civically-conscious storytelling. She has spent the past decade in the government & non-profit sectors gaining experience in public relations, social media marketing, event planning, fundraising, crisis communications, political campaigns, strategic planning, and community engagement. Her main purpose? She’s here to make you shine a little brighter.
Before landing at C2 Strategic Communications, Andrea worked for the City of Indianapolis as the Chief Communications Officer for the Department of Metropolitan Development, a municipal agency that handles city planning, transportation planning, long-range planning, historic preservation, large-scale redevelopment projects, economic development and incentives, real estate transactions, and distribution of grants from the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development. She has also helped with messaging on several monumental planning initiatives, including the White River Vision Plan, comprehensive overhauls of the Marion County Land Use Plan and the Sign Ordinance, and Transit Oriented Development.. Previously she worked for Mayor Joe Hogsett’s administration as a Neighborhood Advocate, where she built strong collaborative partnerships with neighborhoods and businesses to promote city initiatives while addressing community-wide concerns. She began her career in local government doing marketing for the parks department living her most Leslie Knope life. She also has experience working for NPR, PBS, political campaigns, and the Indiana Statehouse.
She’s a graduate of Ball State University where she studied Telecommunications, Political Science, & Gender Studies. In her free time you can find her zipping around town on her bicycle, frequenting farmers markets, and serving her community as the co-president of the Fletcher Place Neighborhood Association. Occasionally she is funny on twitter.
