Summary

C2 Strategic Communications seeks a Digital Marketing Strategist to join a growing public relations and marketing firm based in Louisville with offices in Lexington and Indianapolis. The strategist will oversee delivery of digital services (social media, websites, paid digital, e-communications, etc.) to clients representing several industry sectors.

The ideal candidate will be a digital-focused professional who enjoys working in the rapidly changing environment of digital communications. Candidates should have strong knowledge, skills and abilities using a variety of digital tools to support communications and marketing campaigns. Candidates also should enjoy working in a collaborative, creative environment and be able to offer effective strategies and advice related to a mix of clients.

The Digital Marketing Strategist will lead delivery of the firm’s digital communications services and help identify and develop new offerings. This position also will support staff training and sales efforts.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic communications plans, with a focus on digital communications services
  • Oversee planning, setup and support for client websites and social media channels
  • Collaborate with internal staff and vendors to support client website and social media channels, including direct management of key accounts and campaigns
  • Develop, manage and measure effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns (paid social advertising, IP targeting, digital retargeting, etc.) to align with client objectives
  • Manage virtual outreach via platforms such as Zoom and Teams
  • Oversee development of internal processes to manage and expand digital services
  • Direct digital communications/marketing efforts for C2, including firm’s social media accounts, website and newsletters
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently to stay on budget according to terms of client contract
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology and recognize opportunities to use it to meet client needs
  • Assist with business development: direct pitches, proposal writing, presentations, etc.
  • Participate in annual strategic planning for the company
  • Enter hours worked and reimbursable expenses incurred on a timely basis for effective project management and timely billing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Skills/attributes

Required:

  • Adept in multiple social media platforms
  • Certification/working knowledge of SEO
  • Working knowledge of social media advertising platforms: Facebook Advertising, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions
  • Experience with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics and CRM software
  • Ability to develop and measure targeted KPIs for clients  
  • Certification/working knowledge of Facebook’s advertising platform
  • Experience planning and managing website development
  • Familiarity with MailChimp, Constant Contact or similar platforms
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to translate sometimes complex concepts into simple, short messages
  • Ability to interact with and gain the trust of current and prospective clients
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Adept at collaborating, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred:

  • Certification/working knowledge of Google Ads
  • Working knowledge of Sprout Social, or similar social management system
  • Working knowledge of Cision or other media monitoring services
  • Competency using WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator

Education/experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in digital marketing/communications, especially in an agency, corporate or public agency setting

Work environment

Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with an hour for lunch, Monday through Friday. Employees often work off-site, either at a client’s office or event. Reliable transportation is required. Occasionally, night and weekend hours might be required. Overnight travel is minimal.
