C2 Strategic Communications seeks a Senior Director for Indiana to join our growing firm. C2 is a regional public relations and marketing firm with offices in Louisville and Lexington, Ky., and Indianapolis.

The Senior Director, Indiana leads our Indianapolis office team and serves an array of clients in the government, business and nonprofit fields. The ideal candidate will have the passion for helping clients tell their stories and the desire to work in a collaborative, creative environment.

Key elements of this job include overseeing and managing staff, supervising key accounts, tracking and pursuing new business opportunities and ensuring the quality of work provided to clients.

The Senior Director, Indiana will extend and expand existing client relationships, support marketing development, participate in regular networking activities and research new markets and service line opportunities.

Essential duties and responsibilities


  • Guide, manage and support training and development of assigned staff
  • Participate in bi-weekly management team meetings with other senior directors, helping manage and improve the firm’s delivery of services
  • Plan and direct Indiana office meetings
  • Mentor and delegate to assigned staff
  • Participate in performance reviews for Indiana staff
  • Help identify and recruit staff and/or subcontractors to support client needs

Client Services

  • Maintain relationships with current clients in assigned sectors
  • Manage or direct major Indiana accounts
  • Lead efforts to enhance and/or expand services to current clients
  • Maintain and improve quality of firm’s deliverables
  • Oversee contract renewals, modifications, etc.
  • Identify and solve issues affecting delivery of services, escalating when necessary to COO

Business Development

  • Participate in bi-weekly sales team meetings to coordinate and manage business development efforts
  • Support direct outreach and marketing to potential clients in assigned sectors
  • Prioritize and participate in key associations, organizations and other business networking opportunities
  • Oversee RFP responses and manage partnering/contracting process with clients
  • Oversee and, as necessary, develop scoping proposals for new clients
  • Support marketing development efforts


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field
  • 12-15 years of experience leading and planning communications and PR strategies, especially in an agency, corporate or public agency setting

  • A typical work week is 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with a one-hour lunch
  • Position will be based in Indianapolis office
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Night and weekend hours, and the occasional travel, may be required but are minimal
  • This position is full-time exempt and reports to Executive Team
