At C2 Strategic, the Associate Strategist is an integral team member of our strategic communications team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and enjoy working in a collaborative, creative environment.

This position will primarily support strategic communications for Government & Business Services (GBS) clients. You’ll work hand-in-hand with account managers, clients and creative professionals for a range of external and internal communications needs, including media relations, public involvement, digital marketing, social media management and more.
Successful associate strategists are proactive, detail-oriented, unafraid to ask questions and can work comfortably alone or collaborating with a team. The ideal candidate will be as adept at developing communications strategies and plans as executing individual tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Support account managers to plan and execute communications strategies and tactics
- Lead small and mid-sized accounts, as a path to professional growth and advancement at C2.
- Manage projects, including workflow and identifying new opportunities to enhance a client’s experience.
- Develop and implement communications plans, including objectives, strategies, tactics and budgets to meet client needs and reach target audiences
- Support client goals by identifying needs, drafting and producing high-quality deliverables, conducting research and sharing new and innovative ideas
- Develop news releases, newsletters, web content, speeches, talking points, presentations, other collateral marketing materials, social media posts, proposals, etc.
- Plan and organize media availabilities, news conferences and professional conferences
- Plan, schedule, optimize and measure social media content for clients
- Produce monthly performance reports for clients
- Follow emerging technology and communications trends and recognize opportunities to apply them to meet client needs
- Organize and report time effectively and efficiently staying on budget
- Assist with other duties as assigned

Preferred:
- Working knowledge of MailChimp and/or Constant Contact to produce newsletters
- Experience using Cision or other media-monitoring service
- Experience using social-media management tools, such as Sprout
- Experience using content-management systems such as WordPress
Education/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related fields of study
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in the communications field, especially in an agency or corporate setting
Work environment
- This position is based in Kentucky. Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with an hour for lunch, Monday through Friday. Employees often work off-site, either at a client’s office or event. Reliable transportation is required. Occasionally, night and weekend hours might be required. Overnight travel is minimal. This position is full-time exempt and reports to C2 management.
- Competitive pay (starting at $50,000 and commensurate with experience)
